Hiro’s body of work is a collection of emotions, memories, and imaginations translated into lines. His works contain everything that he encompasses, rendering them into his own quirky universe. He has been greatly influenced by Japanese calligraphy; he began copying using a pencil when he was 10 years old. Hiro creates his works using a ballpoint pen, bound by nothing, making tiny calligraphic drawings — deliberate yet instinctual, expressive yet restrained.
Driven by his desire to find “home,” Hiro Feliciano has created an out-of-this-world creature, drawing inspiration from anything that interests him, from nature, art history, and pop culture.
